Graduate students in the areas of criminal justice and criminology, economics, public management and policy, and social work presented poster displays highlighting their research, internship and capstone experiences at the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies' Public Service Research End Event, May 5, 2015.

The following people recently were initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.

The national organization regularly inducts thousands of academically excellent students who share its mission of promoting education and providing community service to their colleges and communities. Currently, there are approximately 40,000 active student members of Gamma Beta Phi and their numbers and commitment to the Society's ideals continue to grow.

More than 150 undergraduate students presented their research at the Georgia State Undergraduate Research Conference (GSURC) on Tuesday, April 14. Students from a wide variety of disciplines shared their findings through oral presentations, posters, artistic displays and performances.

The 1913 Society - a student ambassador program established by the Office of the President - provides an opportunity for outstanding undergraduate students to serve as official hosts and goodwill ambassadors for the university.

The award recognizes student achievement in the field of visual arts. Students submit original works of visual art to be reviewed by a committee comprised of faculty, staff and student leadership from the Ernest G. Welch School of Art & Design and the College of Arts and Sciences Dean's Office.

The Honors College Ambassadors corps is composed of a diverse and dedicated group of outstanding Honors College students who desire to hone their leadership skills, while also contributing to the Honors College legacy. These student leaders serve as representatives of the Honors College at a variety of internal and external events.

Georgia Southern University recently recognized 1,219 students for excellence in academics on the 2014 Fall Semester President's List. To be eligible for the President's List, a student must have at least a 4.0 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester.

Georgia Southern University recently named 2,725 students for excellence in academics to the 2014 Fall Semester Dean's List. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must have at least a 3.5 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester.

Samford University releases dean's lists after the close of the fall and spring semesters each academic year. To qualify for the dean's list, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework. Dean's List is the highest academic recognition given by the school at the end of each semester.

To be eligible for the President’s List, students must earn a 4.0 GPA for the semester and complete at least nine semester hours of academic credit with no incompletes.

To be eligible for the Dean's List, students must earn a 3.50 GPA for the semester and complete at least nine semester hours of academic credit with no incompletes.

Dr. Bonita C. Jacobs, president of the University of North Georgia (UNG), recognized more than 1,000 students for their academic performance during fall semester 2014 by naming them to the President's List and President's Honor Roll.

More than 1,800 students made the fall 2014 Dean's Lists at the University of North Georgia (UNG) for achieving a 3.5 grade point average, carrying 12 or more credit hours in one semester and having no grade lower than B.

Piedmont College has recognized students from the 2014 Fall Semester who were selected as Dean's Scholars and named to the Dean's List. Students named as Dean's Scholars have earned a perfect 4.0 grade-point average for the semester, and students named to the Dean's List have earned a grade-point average of 3.5 to 3.99.

For summer semester, the University of North Georgia (UNG) awarded 349 degrees, including 215 bachelor's degrees, 107 associate degrees, 24 graduate degrees and three certificates. The commencement ceremony was held Aug. 2, 2014 on the university's Dahlonega Campus.
