James Madison University is pleased to announce the following students made the dean's list for the fall 2017 semester.

Samford University releases dean's lists after the close of the fall and spring semesters each academic year. To qualify for the dean's list, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework. Dean's List is the highest academic recognition given by the school at the end of each semester.

Miami University students who are ranked in the top twenty percent of undergraduate students within each division for first semester 2017-18 have been named to the dean's list recognizing academic excellence.

Miami University students who are ranked in the top three percent of undergraduate students within each division for fist semester 2017-18 have been named to the president's list recognizing academic excellence.

Kennesaw State University congratulates the more than 6,200 students named to the Fall 2017 Dean's List. Students enrolled at least 9 credit hours and with a grade point average of at least 3.5 were named to the list.

Kennesaw State University recently named students to the President's List, in recognition of their academic excellence in the Fall 2017 semester. The Kennesaw State students were honored by President Sam Olens for earning top marks.

The University of North Georgia announces degrees and certificates awarded for the fall 2017 semester, including hundreds awarded in commencement exercises held December 15 & 16 at the university.

In ceremonies held December 15 at the University of North Georgia, graduating cadets were awarded commissions as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army or Georgia National Guard.

University of North Georgia President Bonita Jacobs recognizes students who achieved a 4.0 grade point average during the fall 2017 semester. Students enrolled in 12 or more credit hours in bachelor's degree programs who achieved a 4.0 grade point average were named to the President's Honor Roll. Students enrolled in associate degree programs who met the same level of achievement were named to the President's List.

The deans of each of UNG's five colleges - the College of Arts & Letters, the College of Education, the College of Health Sciences & Professions, the Mike Cottrell College of Business, and the College of Science & Mathematics - announced the names of those students who made their respective lists for fall 2017. Dean's List recognition is achieved by having at least a 3.5 grade point average, carrying 12 or more credit hours in one semester and having no grade lower than B.

Comprised of 35 voting Senators, the JSU Student Senate is the legislative body of the Student Government Association.

Approximately 2.419 students have made the Fall Semester 2017 Dean's List for academic achievement at Coastal Carolina University. To qualify for the Dean's List, freshmen must earn a 3.25 grade point average, and upperclassmen must earn a 3.5 grade point average.

More than 2,000 JSU students were named to the Fall 2017 Honor's List.

The following students completed courses with exemplary marks and made the 2017 fall President's List at Georgia College in Milledgeville, Ga.

The following students achieved the Dean's List at Belmont University for the Fall 2017 semester. Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.

The University of North Georgia's Ranger Challenge Black team advances to Sandhurst after winning the Spartan Ranger Challenge hosted by U.S. Army Cadet Command on Oct. 26-29 at Fort Knox, Kentucky. UNG bested 18 teams with 198 total Cadets from the nation's junior and senior military colleges. UNG's Ranger Challenge Gold team also competed at Fort Knox.

On Nov. 17, ninety-one Georgia State University College of Law alumni were sworn in for the Superior Court of Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Georgia by Judge Shawn Ellen LaGrua (J.D. '87) of the Superior Court of Fulton County and Presiding Judge Christopher J. McFadden of the Court of Appeals of Georgia.

Forty-four members of the Doctor of Physical Therapy Class of 2020 at Georgia State University received their white coats at the annual White Coat Ceremony and Service of Remembrance on October 26. Receiving the white coats marks the students' transition to clinical education and professional status as developing healthcare providers.

More than 140 students from 10 departments in the College of Arts and Sciences participated in the Fall 2017 Undergraduate STEM Research Conference on Oct. 27, 2017, presenting research, research proposals, or literature on topics of interest.

Close to 300 University of Alabama students are receiving a hands-on educational experience at more than 60 companies and organizations through UA's Cooperative Education Program during fall 2017. In the Cooperative Education Program, students alternate periods of full-time study with periods of full-time employment. This program offers work related to the academic major or career interests of each student. The experience enhances the students' employment prospects after graduation. While in school, students carry regular course schedules. While on co-op, they work with professionals in their fields who supervise their training and work. At work, co-op students earn competitive salaries and may receive benefit packages in addition to valuable on-the-job experience. Students maintain their full-time student status while at work and have priority registration status each semester through graduation.

To be eligible for the Dean's List during the summer semester, degree-seeking students with a minimum Georgia State cumulative GPA of 2.00 must earn a 3.50 GPA for the semester and complete at least 6 semester hours of academic credit with no incompletes.

To be eligible for the President's List during the summer semester, students must earn a 4.0 GPA for the semester and complete at least 6 semester hours of academic credit with no incompletes.

Belmont's fall 2017 semester kicked off with a record-breaking enrollment number for the 17th consecutive year as the University welcomed 8,080 students to the first day of classes, nearly triple the enrollment in 2000. As part of its Vision 2020 strategic plan, Belmont aims to hit 8,888 students by the Fall 2020 semester, providing more students than ever the opportunity to embrace the Belmont mission to "engage and transform the world."

The University of Alabama awarded approximately 1,300 degrees during summer commencement Aug. 5. A total of 417 students enrolled during the 2017 summer semester at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean's List with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the President's List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's). The UA Dean's and President's lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.
