Congratulations to the 2017 Global Ambassador Program cohort for successfully completing the program with outstanding leadership and service. The Global Ambassador Program participants demonstrate intercultural communication and leadership skills through conversations, interactions, and acculturation with visiting international students at Georgia State University.

The deans of each of UNG's five colleges - the College of Arts & Letters, the College of Education, the College of Health Sciences & Professions, the Mike Cottrell College of Business, and the College of Science & Mathematics - announced the names of those students who made their respective lists for summer 2017. Dean's List recognition is achieved by having at least a 3.5 grade point average, carrying 12 or more credit hours in one semester and having no grade lower than B.

Welcome home, Bobcats! On Friday, July, 21, 2017, Georgia College celebrates the newest students and their families as they attend New Student Orientation. Orientation is a day-long program packed with opportunities for new students to connect with faculty in their intended major and become familiar with the campus as well as the array of academic and campus life programs available. Orientation allows new members of the Bobcat family to "take care of business" as they prepare for move-in.

More than 150 students from the Georgia State University College of Law earned their juris doctor (JD) degree during the Spring 2017 semester.

Georgia Southern University recently recognized more than 1,350 students for excellence in academics on the Spring 2017 semester President's List. To be eligible for the President's List, a student must have at least a 4.0 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester.

Georgia Southern University recently recognized more than 2,700 students for excellence in academics on the Spring 2017 semester Dean's List. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must have at least a 3.5 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester.

Some 3,500 students graduated during RIT's 132nd commencement celebration, held in May.

This achievement is presented to the students who participated in international education experiences with Georgia State University during the Spring 2017 semester.

The Georgia State University Singers took first prize at one of the most significant chamber choir competitions in the world - the 15th International Chamber Choir Competition Marktoberdorf 2017 in Marktoberdorf, Germany.

University of North Georgia President Bonita Jacobs recognizes more than 1,300 students who achieved a 4.0 grade point average during the spring 2017 semester. Students enrolled in 12 or more credit hours in bachelor's degree programs who achieved a 4.0 grade point average were named to the President's Honor Roll. Students enrolled in associate degree programs who met the same level of achievement were named to the President's List.

The following students have earned the distinction of Dean's List at the Georgia Institute of Technology for Spring 2017.

Dean's List honors are earned by undergraduate students who carry 12 or more credit hours and achieve a 3.5 grade point average or higher on the 4.0 scale.

A total of 11,101 students enrolled during the 2017 spring semester at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean's List with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the President's List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's). The UA Dean's and President's lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.

The University of Alabama awarded approximately 5,000 degrees during spring commencement May 5-7. With a beautiful campus, hundreds of rigorous academic programs, world-renowned faculty and numerous opportunities for service and growth, The University of Alabama is a place where legends are made. UA offers its students a premier educational, cultural and social experience with more than 310 undergraduate, graduate and professional programs. The campus gives students the opportunity to interact with nationally renowned faculty performing cutting-edge research. In addition, UA offers students more than 500 student organizations, and UA students perform more than 1 million hours of service for the community.

The University of North Georgia awarded more than 1,800 degrees and certificates for the spring 2017 semester, including hundreds awarded in commencement exercises held May 5-7 at the university.

Orientation grants new members of the Bobcat family to "take care of business" as they prepare for move-in.

To be eligible for the President's List, students must earn a 4.0 GPA for the semester and complete at least nine semester hours of academic credit with no incompletes.

The Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art (BFSDoArt) presented its annual Juried Undergraduate Exhibition, a showcase of artwork from undergraduate students, in the Center for Art & Theatre's Contemporary Gallery from March 31 - April 7. The show offers students an opportunity to highlight their work and gain professional experience in a formal setting. Winners, selected by Augusta University's Department of Art Chairman Scott Thorp, were announced at the opening reception in March. This year's winners included: Best in Show: Katie "Xed" Blankenship, "Roach Motel" Juror's Choice: Emily Oren, "Borderline" Honorable Mention: Marian Trainor, "Fibula" Honorable Mention: Chloe Coulibaly, "Meditation" Blankenship and Oren will each receive a solo exhibition at the Averitt Center for the Art, Legends Gallery during the 2017-2018 school year. Other students with work selected for Juried 2017 were Soleil Collins, Charlynne Crutcher, Anna Currence, Allison Exley, Alex Furlough, Rikki Hagerty, Jessie Hamner, Tanner Higgs, Carter Jackson, Jennie Klabnik, Savannah Knauss, Denson McLain, Kimberly Powell Page, Keyanna Palmer, Ray Pettit, Kasey Roberts, Raegan Rowland, Allyson Schuman, Madeline Shelor, Sarah Shepherd, Virginia Skinner, Dylan Stembridge, Tanner Tracey, Stefani Waters, Shelby Whitaker, MacKenzie Willard. "The BFSDoArt is an interdisciplinary program, a fact readily apparent through the great diversity of styles, media and disciplines on display in this year's 'Juried Undergraduate Exhibition,'" said Jason Hoelscher, BFSDoArt gallery director and assistant professor. "The compelling quality of our students' work, along with the discerning eye of our visiting juror, artist and scholar Scott Thorp, combined to make this dynamite exhibition."
